Selfie Spot
Together!
The selfie spot “Yhesä” (together) is designed and built by Toni Katajalaakso. Its background is rooted in the history of Kannus. In 1934, a fire raged through the town, destroying much of the center and leaving only charred ruins behind. The rebuilding was carried out together, as a community. The artwork serves as a reminder of that same communal strength, which we still need today and tomorrow. The beautiful edging stones were repurposed from the foundation of the now-demolished Raasakka School. And true to its name, the bench is a place where people can sit yhesä -together.
