Relax in the lap of nature

The Metsäkämmen lean-to shelter is located within a 10-minute walk from the Kitinkangas Ski Stadium parking lot. It is easy to find by following the ski and running tracks. A campfire and firewood are provided for visitors.

Silmäjärvi’s accessible outdoor recreation area and fishing dock are located in the stunning scenery of Silmäjärvi. Sit down for a while and enjoy the calming view of Lake Silmäjärvi.

The hut is accessible by car. A campfire and firewood are provided for visitors. There is also a geocache hideout.

Heinäjärvi lean-to shelter is located along the Partio-Jylhä hiking trail. There is an information board at the gate of Partio-Jylhä. A geogache hideout.

Pentti’s lean-to shelter is located along the Ketunkangas nature trail. From the Silmäjärventie parking lot, it is a 350-meter walk to the shelter. A campfire and firewood are provided for visitors.

Metsäkirkko is a small log cabin in the terrain of Poleenharju. Metsäkirkko has a fireplace and seats for 30 people. Metsäkirkko’s doors are always open for visitors. A fireplace, firewood, and a toilet are available for visitors to use for free. There is also a geocache hideout.

Retki lean-to shelter is located along a skiing track and a mountain bike trail. You can reach the shelter by car. A campfire and firewood are provided for visitors. There is also a geocache hideout.

Kisapuisto is a great place for the whole family to spend time together. While the sausages are cooking, you can enjoy all the park has to offer: kids can run and play in the playground, take a ride on the zip line, or get some exercise on the outdoor gym equipment – fun for all ages.

Viitajärvi hut is located along the Eskola nature trail. Near the hut there is also a birdwatching tower. The starting point of the trail is at the Eskola outdoor swimming pool. A map can be found on-site.

The lean-to shelter in the Lehtoranta arboretum is an open campfire site for everyone. The arboretum also features an old tar-burning pit. According to oral tradition, the tar pit was built at the end of the 18th century, and tar was regularly produced there for about a hundred years.

The lean-tos at the Korpela dam are located in the recreational area of Korpela. At the beginning of the recreation area there are lean-tos and a fishing dock, and by following the path downhill you’ll find a swimming spot. South of the bridge, at the actual power plant area, the chute trail begins and leads down to the river. Along the way there is a rest spot and a picturesque bridge that crosses the canal to the old office building. The trail ends at the river, where there is another lean-to.

At Niskankoski Cooking Shelter, it’s wonderful to pause for a moment, sit down, and enjoy the soothing rush of the rapids. Niskankoski also features an accessible fishing pier.

Samulinranta lean-to shelter is located in the scenic surroundings of Jauhokoski and Karjakoski. From the parking lot, it’s about a 250-meter walk to the shelter.
